ASTM A269 TP316L Austenitic Stainless Steel Seamless Coiled Tube for Oil and Gas Industry
Coiled tubing in the oil and gas industry is a continuous, long - length metal tube wound on a large - sized reel. YUHONG's stainless - steel coiled tubing is highly versatile and well - suited for multiple oil and gas operations. It is extensively employed in well intervention activities in oil and gas wells, such as well logging, stimulation, and sand control operations.
ASTM A269 TP316L Austenitic Stainless Steel Seamless Coiled Tube Mechanical Test
Flaring Test (Seamless Tubes)
One specimen per lot of finished seamless tubes is taken from one end of a tube for flaring test to evaluate expandability.
Lot Definition for Testing
Tubes of the same nominal size, wall thickness, and heat number before cutting.
For batch furnace heat treatment: same size, heat number, and furnace charge.
For continuous furnace or direct quench: same size, heat number, and processing conditions.
Hardness Test
Two specimens per lot (same lot definition as flaring test) for Brinell or Rockwell hardness testing.
Multiple Heat Treatment
Flaring and hardness tests must be performed on each heat separately when multiple heats are involved.
Reverse Flattening Test (Welded Tubes - for reference)
One specimen per 1,500 ft (460 m) of finished welded tubing; samples from both ends if coil exceeds 1,500 ft.
Maximum Tubes per Heat - Treated Lot
Tube Size | Maximum Lot Size |
OD ≥ 2" (50 mm) & WT ≥ 0.200" (5.08 mm) | ≤ 50 tubes |
1" (25 mm) < OD < 2" (50 mm) OR OD > 1" & WT < 0.200" | ≤ 75 tubes |
OD ≤ 1" (25 mm) | ≤ 125 tubes |
